Twelve Days of Sweets - Day 6

Today is the half-way point in the series!

This one is another classic. When else would you think about spicy cookies? Yeah, that's right. These cookies pack a punch!

We are making Gingerbread cookies!

First, sift the dry ingredients together. Set aside.

Cream butter, shortening, and brown sugar. Add egg and molasses.hehe I dunno why but that word always make me giggle!

Seperate the dough into 2 disks and wrap with plastic wrap. Chill for 3 hours.

Remove the dough from the refrigerator one disk at a time and let stand at room temperature about 10 minutes.
Roll out the dough, being sure that the dough isn't sticking to the counter. Cut with favorite cookie cutters.

Bake, switching the positions of the cookies from top to bottom and back to front halfway through baking, 10 to 12 minutes. Cool and ......

Decorate!!!

Hope you enjoy!
