So Little Time...

Wow! What a weekend! We have been building a storage shed all weekend. Just have the roofing, siding, and doors left to do.

Today, I have been cleaning the house in town. Holy cow! I didn't think it was that filthy. Thankfully, the new tenants are going to paint soon. With some TLC it will be an awesome home, I just don't have the extra time and cash to do it.

At the end of last week, we got #2 and #3's room painted-same color- but it really needed it. We also got some vinyl monkeys to stick on the walls to go with their theme. Pictures will be posted after we are done. As far as #1's room.....he has yet to clean up. I can't decorate til he picks up his crap!

This coming weekend, we are having a sale to recoup some money from the previous tenant of the old house. Ughh...three days of sitting out, waiting for people to show, then waiting and watching them dig thru everything, only to find one thing marked for 50¢ and then haggle to get it for a quarter. Seriously!!! Just give me 2 quarters!!!!

Okay. Enough ranting. I need to get off my butt, and get some clothes washed for Culligan Man and the rugrats....it is a never ending cycle of laundry in our house...ugh.....

Mmmm...meatballs!

The other night I whipped up a batch of meatballs for dinner. I had intended for half of them to be for dinner that night and I was gonna freeze the rest for another night. Well, even the best laid plans go awry.
As soon as the kids seen them, they had to have some. Then when hubby got home, he had to taste one....or two....or five. By this time, nearly a dozen meatballs were gone. Oh well, guess I need to make more next time!

And the house goes quiet....momentarily

Well, the rest of the family has left. For just a few minutes I could hear myself think- just for a FEW minutes... Then all the chaos that surrounds me on a regular basis began again. The baby started screaming for his bottle; the next two started playing their computer game, fighting over who gets to play what part; the dog goes running around in no certain direction with no purpose other than to be running; the tv is playing todays football games. Yep, life has returned to normal. To some, this is insanity, but to me it s the norm. Nothing is predictable in my house, and I like it. Sometimes I want to escape, but I will always return. This is my life, and I wouldn't ant it any other way.

Would you move for work?

If you were given the opportunity to move to a different state, to run a business that could very well be yours in 15 years, and still work for the boss you have worked with for 10 years, would you go?

Steve was recently approached by his boss to move to Alaska and run a business. Granted, his boss has not purchased the business as of yet, but it looks like he will.  Steve is unsure if he wants to go. Yes, I know we have 4 kids-from 9 to 1. Yes, I know it would be unlike anywhere we have been before. Yes, I know we wouldn't be close to family. Yes, we would have to work hard to keep the business running-have I mentioned it has been in business for 20 years already? But look at the long term....we could have our own business in 15 years when Steve's boss retires. We could feel good knowing that we worked our tails off to make the business profitable. Yeah, the first few years could be difficult, I may have to go back to work until we get the business really going and we get settled in. These are all things that I understand and am prepared for.

Just think of the experiences we could have. Think of the things the kids could do that they can't here in Texas-do you know anywhere in TX that you can catch salmon with a dipnet? Can you go ice fishing in TX? Watch a moose walk thru the back yard?  Think of the culture we can experience first hand, not on some history or travel show on TV. Yes, it would be a whole new way of life, but I am ready. The kids will be fine, they will adjust. We can make it!

Now, how do I convince him of all of this?????

App installed

I installed a Blogger app so I can post when I am away from home. Hopefully it works!

Can Drinking Tea Provide Health Benefits?
